The FIFTH session of the United Nations Environment Assembly has resumed recently. Tackling global plastic pollution is one of the top topics of the meeting. Governments around the world will discuss the first global treaty to tackle plastic pollution.


To effectively address the global problem of plastic pollution, the Conference adopted the "End Plastic Pollution: The resolution aims to initiate the establishment of an intergovernmental negotiating working mechanism on plastic pollution, including in the Marine environment, with a view to developing a legally binding international agreement on plastic pollution through a life-cycle approach by 2024.

Biodegradable plastics are gaining market attention
Under the theme of environmental protection, biodegradable plastic as a key material to replace the existing plastic, are gaining the market attention.


Biodegradable plastics are the ideal alternative to white pollution. Biodegradation is the main variety of biodegradable plastics, usually we hear the biodegradable plastics refer to biodegradable plastics, because it can fundamentally solve the problem of white pollution and attention from all sides.

The use of biodegradable plastics
Degradable plastic refers to a kind of plastic products whose properties can meet the requirements of use, performance in the preservation period is unchanged, and after use in natural environmental conditions can degrade a pair of environmentally friendly substances plastic. Therefore, it is also known as environmentally degradable plastics.

There are many new types of plastic: photodegradable plastic, biodegradable plastic, photodegradable/oxidized/biodegradable plastic, carbon dioxide based biodegradable plastic, thermoplastic starch resin degradable plastic.

There are two main areas of use of degradable plastics: one is the original use of ordinary plastics in the field, and the other is plastic instead of other materials in the field.
